Meet the geneticist Dr. Paul

Dr. Apostolos "Paul" Psychogios is a board-certified medical geneticist and the founder of Genome1st. He began his medical journey at the University of Athens in Greece, where he trained in internal medicine and cardiology at HCI Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Psychogios completed a clinical genetics residency with the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMG) at Columbia University in New York, followed by a fellowship in clinical molecular genetics at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr. Psychogios has built a distinguished career at renowned institutions such as Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He also served as the medical director of genetics at Kentucky Children’s Hospital and Dayton Children’s Hospital. Currently, he practices at Providence in Los Angeles, CA, where he is the associate medical director for Southern California until April 2025. He has stopped seeing patients at Genome1st in Cincinnati.
In May 2025, Dr. Psychogios will begin leading a new Precision Medicine service at an academic program in the Eastern U.S.
