Meet the geneticist Dr. Paul

Dr. Apostolos "Paul" Psychogios is a board-certified medical geneticist and the founder of Genome1st. He began his medical journey at the University of Athens in Greece, where he trained in internal medicine and cardiology at HCI Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Psychogios completed a clinical genetics residency with the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMG) at Columbia University in New York, followed by a fellowship in clinical molecular genetics at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr. Psychogios has built a distinguished career at renowned institutions such as Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Providence Health. He has served as the medical director of genetics at Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Dayton Children’s Hospital, and Providence Health in Southern California (Los Angeles and Orange Counties). Currently, he practices at West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, WV. Dr. Psychogios' practice is focused on precision care and prevention of disease in children and adults based on whole genome sequencing (WGS) and detailed analysis of the whole family history. Dr. Psychogios stopped seeing private patients in his Cincinnati, OH based practice in February 2025.
